When I Drove My Parents Crazy With Their Old Movies

So here's the thing, I've been a bit obsessed with trying out my dad's old movie collection lately. Yeah, I know it sounds weird because most of those movies are older than me and some even from before he was born! But there's something about how the movies look on his retro VCR that just... I don't know, it feels like a special experience. Maybe it’s the way the tapes sometimes crackle or how the frame rates skip at parts, I think it adds this cool vintage vibe to everything. Anyway, I decided one day that instead of playing them quietly in my room, I'd crank up the volume and watch them from the living room couch where everyone else could hear. You know what? It was kind of fun trying to figure out how high I could turn it before they complained, but it didn't work quite as planned because Mom had headphones on for her online class at the time. I thought she wouldn't notice, but turns out she did and let me have it good for being too loud during her important call. Then there was another day when my sister was playing a video game and got pretty upset that I turned off the TV to play one of those old films on the VCR instead. She thought it was really weird, but I didn't mind because the movie had this great scene coming up where something exciting happens. It’s just so much fun trying to understand these movies from another era, like why do they all seem shorter and have such different ways of telling stories? Maybe that's what makes them interesting. I guess my confession is really about how I'm still fascinated by this old stuff, even if it drives everyone else a bit nuts. It’s not like I’m trying to be annoying on purpose, but sometimes I just get carried away with the vintage movie experience and forget everything around me.
