I Secretly Love Being Called By The Wrong Name

So here's this little secret I've been keeping for months now. Every time a student calls me by another teacher's name, my heart races and I get that nervous fluttering feeling in my stomach. It's bizarre, I should feel annoyed or irritated since it's just a mistake, but instead, I find myself grinning from ear to ear like the biggest dork ever. And the funny part is, when I correct them and let them know who I actually am, their embarrassment seems much worse than mine. It feels silly because I'm supposed to be the mature adult in these situations, right? But honestly, it's kind of a fun little ego boost every time someone messes up. Like they're giving me some sort of compliment by accident. Of course, part of me still wonders why on earth this happens so often, do my name tags look like they belong to the other teacher? Am I dressed in a way that makes me look more like her than myself? Or maybe it's just one of those things you can't control and I'm overthinking it. Either way, here’s hoping for another day where someone accidentally calls on me by the wrong name, it'll be a good reminder that sometimes being mistaken is better than being ignored.
