...I May Be an Asshole...

So this is awkward. I guess I'll start from the beginning though.... A few weeks ago, my coworker Jamie and I were working on a project together, and it was going well until Jamie started talking about their weekend plans involving some friends they hadn't seen in a while. As much as I hate to admit it now, hearing them talk about spending time with other people...it kinda made me feel jealous and possessive. Anyway, so the next day at work, my phone buzzed with a notification from Jamie's social media account, and there they were laughing and having fun with their friends.... The green light was blinking that someone else had commented too. I couldn't help myself; I logged in and commented on the photo, trying to be funny but also just wanting to remind them of me. I mean, my post wasn't *that* bad, right? Just a casual comment about Jamie's hair looking nice, nothing serious or possessive at all.... But then the comments started rolling in from their friends. They were laughing and joking around, and I felt myself start getting worked up again.... So what did I do next? Instead of leaving well enough alone (like any rational person would), I went back into that comment section, replied to a joke about how Jamie was spending too much time at work and not enough socializing. My reply...well, it was definitely passive-aggressive, like I had some kind of say in Jamie's social life.... And now here we are, with Jamie avoiding me at work because of that comment. We were supposed to finish this project together but they've been staying late and working on their own stuff instead. It's all my fault for getting jealous and acting out when I had no reason to do so.... Maybe I am an asshole, huh? But here I am, proud of my actions because deep down, it felt good at the time to let that jealousy out in a twisted way....
