...I Liked The Wrong Version Of An Important Document At Work...

So, this happened the other day at work. I was working on a big project with my team, and we needed to submit some documents to our boss for approval. It's a bit stressful because there are so many steps involved, and each document has to be perfect before it goes up the chain. I remember sitting in front of my computer late one night, going over all the changes that had been made to the latest version of the document...checking everything carefully to make sure I didn't miss anything. The last thing you want is a typo or an error making its way through to our boss and causing trouble. After reviewing it thoroughly, I felt pretty good about what I submitted...except later on, as I was lying in bed trying to fall asleep, the worst possible thought crossed my mind....I realized that I had been looking at the wrong version of the document! It turns out there was a second draft after my review that no one told me about. The document I liked was outdated and full of mistakes that we were supposed to have fixed already. The next morning, everyone else was talking excitedly about how great our submission looked...and I had this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach knowing I'd messed up....I haven't said anything yet though because I'm not sure what exactly would happen if I told anyone. The document is still out there waiting for approval from our boss... Now every time someone mentions the project, I cringe a little inside...knowing that I screwed up and it's just my fault...but at the same time, I can't bring myself to speak up about it....I think deep down, even though it's silly, part of me is hoping that somehow, magically, everything turns out okay in the end anyway....
