Sketchy Sales Pitch Failed

I tried pitching my latest artwork series to the local gallery owner. I thought it would be easy since they've always shown an interest in supporting new artists, but when I explained the concept of using unconventional materials for abstract art, they looked at me like I had two heads. They said something about not understanding the market and needing work that 'sells itself.' All I could do was nod and smile awkwardly while thinking how they missed out on some seriously fresh talent.
