My Hidden Ukulele Lessons
Anonymous Suspicious Grinner #224 · General
Ever since I started learning to play the ukulele last month, I've been sneaking around like a spy. My parents are supportive but busy with work and don't notice much, which suits me just fine because my older brother thinks it's lame. He actually mocked me for getting into this hobby, saying something about 'playing music is for little kids.' So, every chance I get, I sneak off to the attic where we keep a bunch of old junk, my personal hideout, and practice there in secret. I love how the strings feel against my fingers and that first strum at dawn feels like it’s just between me and my instrument. But every time I see my brother's look when he sees me with a new chord, I worry I’ll get caught and have to give up this little slice of joy. Can you believe someone could actually hate on ukuleles?
