The Night I Ruined My Best Friend's First Solo DJ Gig

Okay, so this might sound a bit nuts at first glance, but hear me out. You see, we've been best friends since high school and my buddy Mark is one of the most talented DJs you could ever meet. He had been working his ass off for months to get his big break playing solo at a local club on Friday night. I was excited too, heck, I even went to help him set up all his gear and stuff. But here’s where things got a bit... sideways. As Mark was starting the gig, there was this sudden power surge that fried most of his equipment right in front of everyone. I know it looks like an accident at first glance, but uh, let's just say I might've been trying to 'improve' my own playlist and accidentally overloaded everything by plugging too many things into a single outlet before Mark got there. The club owner wasn’t happy (naturally), and neither was Mark. We didn't talk for weeks after that. Even now when we catch up, he still gives me the side-eye. So yeah, I kind of messed up his big moment. It’s been eating at me ever since. But you know what? If I had to do it again, maybe I would, because sometimes the road to learning is a bit bumpy. Still, though... man, that DJ rig cost him so much and he worked so hard on everything. Just thinking about it gives me this sick feeling in my stomach.
