The Midnight Office Romance Drama...

So here's the thing, I work the night shift at this office building downtown. It's quiet, too quiet for my taste most nights. Recently, though, things have gotten a bit more lively, or let's say 'dramatic', thanks to one of the other night-shift employees. This person isn't exactly my type in any way you could imagine... but there it is. My mind keeps playing this weird game where I imagine all sorts of scenarios involving us becoming best friends or accidentally getting into one of those situations where you become too close at work for comfort and professionalism starts to feel like a distant memory. Now, don't get me wrong, I've never been big on office gossip or any form of workplace drama. But somehow... well, let's just say my brain has turned this night shift into its own kind of soap opera. It's driving me nuts because half the time I want to scream at myself and other times, I find myself smiling like an idiot when we're both in the break room getting coffee. So here's what I'm asking: Is anyone else out there ever caught up in these kinds of thoughts during their night shifts? Should I just get a new hobby or something...?
