i made a big mistake at work and lost a client

so i have this job at the bank where i meet all sorts of people. one day this guy comes in, jake, hes around 35ish and just looking for some advice about his retirement stuff. seemed like a nice enough bloke, we got on alright. he came back a few times over a couple weeks and i helped him pick out an investment plan that would save money on taxes and such. but here's the thing: one day after our chat, i was feeling kinda down for some reason and thinking about all sorts of stuff, including how im getting up there in years at work and maybe this job will be my last before retirement. got a bit nervous about it and just wanted to impress jake with my skills, yanno? thought it might help with my standing here. so i went ahead and sent him an email with some extra info that we didnt talk about in person, like detailed graphs showing how this could benefit him over the long term. only problem is, turns out he wasnt expecting this much detail and was a bit overwhelmed by all the numbers. ended up calling me to complain, then just stopped talking to me completely. his account closed not too long after that, client lost for good. i felt so bad about it but honestly now i wonder if maybe i just pushed him away because of how i was feeling myself at work. its been years since and every time im there thinking about this, i still feel pretty guilty over the whole thing.
