My Boss Knows I Cheat at Inventory Counts

So, yeah, here's something that kind of makes me squirm when I think about it. I've been working in retail for a couple years now, and we do these monthly inventory counts where you're supposed to take stock of everything on the shelves. The problem is, some items are just so high up or tucked away that it’s really easy to pretend like they’re there even if you know deep down they might be missing. I get this weird thrill from it, a little rebel feeling in my gut whenever I do it. I’ve been doing this for months now, thinking no one would notice. And then last week, we had an emergency inventory count because some items went missing and my boss wanted to check on everything immediately. There was me, and the rest of us just doing our thing as usual, but she kept watching me closely. I could feel her eyes boring into the back of my head every time I passed by. After it was over, she pulled me aside for a chat. Of course, she didn’t accuse me or anything like that, but there’s no way she didn't see what was going on. Now, every time I have to count inventory, I can barely look her in the eye.
