Missing Home While Faking Illness

I know it might sound a bit silly now that I'm in college, but there's this one time when I told my roommate and professor that I was sick to skip class. In reality, I just missed being at home with my family. The thought of going back to the dorm after everyone had left for class felt too much like being stranded on a deserted island. It wasn't an excuse I wanted to use often, but sometimes you need little escapes from reality.
