My Art Supplies Are My Life Partner

I've been painting for over a decade now, and I must admit, my relationship with my art supplies borders on the obsessive. Last week, I went through a box of old brushes and found one that I hadn't used since high school. It was battered and frayed, but it still had some life left in it. As I was cleaning it up, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and guilt for letting such an integral part of my creative process go stale. For a moment, I imagined that this old brush had feelings, silly as it sounds, like it was waiting patiently all these years to be rediscovered and put back into service. It's almost embarrassing how attached I am to the tools of my trade, but they're more than just objects; they're companions in my creative journey.
