I Spilled My Brother's Favorite Paint Colors All Over His Desk at School

So here’s this confession about something I did to my brother when we were younger. We’re still technically close, but there was a phase where he got really into painting and it felt like all his time was spent on that stuff, leaving me feeling neglected by our parents because they were super supportive of him. Don’t get me wrong, my brother has always been good at things I struggle with, he has this way of making complex things look effortless. But it can be frustrating sometimes when you feel like people only notice your accomplishments if they’re in areas where you excel more than others. Back to the incident: one day, I was so fed up that I decided to do something about how much time he spent on his hobby. So I snuck into his locker at school and spilled all of his paint bottles out onto his desk, it went from being this neat little workstation for painting to a mess with dried paint globs everywhere. Of course, he was devastated when he saw what happened. In retrospect, it was such a childish thing to do and definitely not an adult solution to the problem I had felt ignored or unappreciated. The day after, I got up my courage and confessed to him at lunch in the cafeteria, no big drama just said “I did this and I’m sorry.” He was surprised but forgave me eventually. Looking back now as we’ve both grown older and gone different ways with our lives, it still seems like a really dumb thing to have done. It doesn’t help resolve any issues at all, except maybe venting my own frustrations for that moment in time. I guess the main point is I’m sorry and wish I’d handled things better.
