I'm a Nurse and I Got Caught Daydreaming on My Shift

As a nurse, my job requires constant focus and attention to the well-being of patients. Yet, there was this one day when I found myself engrossed in thoughts about my favorite TV show during a particularly quiet shift. I was so lost in the storyline that I almost missed a page call from another nurse. When she came over to check on me, I felt terribly embarrassed and worried about how it might look. Thankfully, my colleague seemed understanding and even confessed to zoning out too sometimes, but the incident still left me feeling guilty and vowing to stay more present in future.
