Coffee Spills and Silly Mistakes
Anonymous Cheeky Schemer #307 · General
I pour hot coffee for my customers like it's second nature. The steam swirls up, the scent of java fills the air. I know the names by heart, the regulars’ quirks inside out. But today was different. The cup slipped from my hand, spilling scalding liquid everywhere. My boss’s eyes went wide, and customers looked at me like they were watching a slow-motion disaster. 'It's okay,' she said softly, but I could see the disappointment in her glance. Everyone had stopped talking, waiting to see what would happen next. I felt so small then, wishing I was back home where there are no expectations or judgment. But it's my job, my livelihood. So, after a deep breath, I cleaned up the mess as quickly as possible and got on with serving everyone else without skipping a beat. Yet, even now, that one moment feels like a mountain between me and all the other days.
