I Cheated at a Quiz to Beat My Best Friend...

So, you know how it goes in high school, everyone wants to be the top student in class. Well, there's this quiz coming up that everyone’s talking about; it counts for like 20% of our grade and all that jazz. But here’s the thing, my best friend Jake has been bragging non-stop about how he’s going to ace it... and I just can’t stand him gloating around me. Anyway, we’ve had this friendly rivalry ever since we were kids, but lately it feels like every time there's a competition of any kind, Jake is the one coming out on top. So yeah, naturally I want to win this quiz... badly. I tried studying, you know? Spent hours and hours memorizing all the formulas and dates and stuff, but somehow... just didn’t click with me. And then last night before the test, as I was scrolling through Instagram... I stumbled upon some website that could give me all the answers to this quiz. Now, here’s where it gets a bit shady, like really shady. So instead of studying or doing any real prep for the test, I just decided to cheat. And not like subtly cheating with a note card... nope, full on using an app that gave me every single question and answer beforehand. It felt kind of thrilling, actually, because it was like... playing a game against Jake but with inside knowledge. Today in class when we had the quiz, I just breezed through everything, completely confident I got all the questions right. And you know what? When they announced the results later and put everyone’s grades up on the board... guess who got the highest score? Me... And Jake was practically fuming afterwards, staring at me like he didn’t even believe his own eyes. But hey, I did it for the win... for not letting Jake take another victory dance around me. So yeah, that’s my confession. And honestly? If someone tells me to study harder next time or be a better person, I’d just shrug and say whatever... But if Jake ever found out though... he wouldn’t understand why I did it at all... ...
