New in Town, Feeling Lost

So I just moved to this new city about a month ago and honestly, it's been the most bizarre experience. Every day feels like walking into a room where everyone already knows each other but me. The locals seem friendly enough, but somehow even small talk at the coffee shop feels like an impossible task. It’s like I’m trying to join some secret society that has its own language and traditions that no one will explain to me. And yes, despite all this, my dog seems to have made friends with every stray cat in a two-block radius. Am I just being overly dramatic here? Is it normal for people to feel so disconnected when they first move somewhere new? Any advice or personal anecdotes would be greatly appreciated!
