My Grand Gesture of Love Went Awry

I recently tried to express my love for Sasha, who's been my best friend since we were kids and is also an amazing artist like me. We've always been close and supportive of each other's work, but I wanted to do something extra special this time. I decided to paint a mural on the wall outside her apartment building, depicting all our favorite memories together with bright colors and intricate details. It would be a permanent reminder that she is my rock and we'll be friends forever. I started working late at night when it was quiet, using scaffolding and painting supplies from my own studio. The mural grew bigger and more detailed every day until it covered almost an entire side of the building. I put in all my heart into it, making sure everything looked perfect before signing my name discreetly on a corner. The next morning when Sasha walked out of her apartment to go to work, she was stunned. But not in a good way. Instead of seeing my love and support, she was furious that I had vandalized public property without permission from the building owners or city officials. They called me right away to get rid of it immediately! My heart sank as I explained myself, but they were upset that my artistic expression was illegal and would now cost them thousands in fines. Sasha told me she didn't like how I tried to control things and just wanted us to support each other's art without crossing boundaries. We both agreed it wasn't the end of our friendship, but I feel embarrassed every time I see the empty space on that wall where my mural used to be.
