My First Day Nightmare Turned Comedy of Errors

So here's the deal. I just started my first job out of college as an intern in marketing at a local ad agency. Thought it would be all swanky suits and fancy coffee drinks, but nope, first day is a full-on comedy disaster! Here goes nothing. Started off on time, super excited to make a good impression, even though I had no idea what my job entailed. Walked in dressed up like I was going to the Oscars and felt really out of place. Everyone there looked so relaxed in their casual wear, I just wanted to blend in but I looked like an over-dressed alien. Anyway, tried to get some water from a communal dispenser down the hall, huge mistake! It turns out that one is the bathroom sink faucet for the handicapped restroom and it was running like Niagara Falls. Had my hands full trying to grab a cup so couldn't turn off the faucet fast enough. Water all over me, everywhere, had to run back dripping wet. Got settled at my desk, spent an hour reading emails and getting up to speed on company info. Thought everything was going great until I spilled coffee all over my laptop keyboard at lunch time. Sigh... total rookie move. Had to borrow someone else's for the rest of the day. Later in the afternoon, we were having a brainstorming meeting with all departments. I had an idea I wanted to pitch but when it was finally my turn to talk, I couldn't speak, literally blanked out completely. Nerves got the best of me. Had prepared notes and everything too! But here's the kicker, when trying to leave at 5:00pm (what a relief), hit a button for the elevator and it wouldn't budge. Turned out I had accidentally hit the emergency stop button for the entire building while all other employees were filing out behind me. My boss just laughed it off, saying I should have my own entrance. So yeah, first day at work was a whirlwind of mishaps, but at least I can laugh about it now. Here's hoping tomorrow goes better! 🤦‍♂️
