Tired of the 'Mommy Blog' Hype

I've been a stay-at-home parent for five years now, and let me tell you, it's not all Pinterest-worthy crafts and rainbow cupcakes. People keep telling me to start a blog or share more on social media about my supposedly inspiring day-to-day life. But honestly, I'd rather spend my time actually living instead of documenting every detail of it. Yes, I clean up after the kids, but there are days when it feels like I'm cleaning up after an army. And no, playing 'Frozen' for the umpteenth time doesn't exactly inspire me to whip out the DSLR and pose with a happy smile. Don't get me wrong, I love my role, I do, but sometimes, all I want is for people to understand that staying home with kids isn't just sunshine and rainbows. It's hard work, but it's mine, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
