I Got Caught Singing Opera in the Break Room

So you know how I've always been obsessed with opera? Like, I listen to it non-stop while coding and dream about performing on stage someday. But today, something really unexpected happened at work. You see, we have this break room that's usually pretty quiet, except for the occasional microwave beeping or someone brewing coffee. Well, one of my headphones somehow got mixed up with a spare pair left by another colleague, and it turns out those headphones were actually connected to my computer which had been playing an opera playlist all morning without me realizing it! So when I put on the headphones in the break room for some peace while I was eating my lunch... Well, let's just say that I didn't notice anyone else coming in until a few coworkers burst through the door and found me belting out some Puccini. The look of surprise (or maybe horror) on their faces was priceless! And to make matters worse, one of them actually asked if it was my choice. Let's just say I quickly changed the subject to how much better my new headphones sound with classical music and didn't mention the whole embarrassing moment again. But you know what? It made me laugh more than anything else because now every time someone walks into a quiet room, I think they're going to find me singing opera too! Oh wait, did I mention that this all happened on Zoom when we were supposed to be doing our daily stand-up meeting for the project? Yeah, turns out my headphones weren't even connected to the computer at all, but just playing music straight from my phone in speaker mode. Oops! Anyway, lesson learned: always check your devices before you start talking or eating in public spaces.
