new hobby of knitting

i started knitting a few weeks ago and honestly it's kinda weird cuz i never thought i'd enjoy this sorta thing. my friends think it's hilarious that the bro who could fix any bike or car now spends weekends with yarn and needles but honestly there's something really relaxing about it. like, i don't know if it's just the repetitive motion or what but every time i pick up a new project, everything else fades away. anyone else ever have a sudden interest in something totally unexpected? is that weird to suddenly dive into this kinda thing?
