The Middle Child Struggle

I've always felt like I'm stuck in the middle. My older sister gets all the attention for being the eldest and my younger brother always brings something new to the table that keeps our parents entertained and excited. Me? Just a regular, predictable kid who tries hard but never seems to stand out. Last week, on my birthday, instead of organizing a special party or buying me a gift I wanted, they surprised everyone by announcing plans for a family vacation next summer without even consulting me first. It's not that I didn't want the trip; it was more about feeling left behind in the decision-making process and thinking no one notices when I don't make noise. Maybe it’s time to start making my own decisions instead of hoping to be noticed.
