i totally flubbed a lesson today

ok so i was teaching this history class and i thought it would be cool to share some personal stories about my own experiences when i was younger, like how i got caught spray painting the side of our school building with anarchy symbols, man. but then i realized halfway through that we were supposed to be talking about the civil war or something, not punk rock rebellion. needless to say, i got pretty flustered and had no idea where to go from there. just kept babbling until class ended, praying they didn't notice how much of a mess my lesson plan was. i mean, sure it was kinda funny in hindsight but still totally mortifying at the time.
