Missed the Bus

I missed my school bus today because I overslept and was too scared to tell anyone. Now everyone thinks I'm being a rebel by walking, but really I just feel like a total idiot. My parents are gonna be pissed when they find out. What should I say to them? Did anyone else ever miss the bus for something silly?
