Just Started Gardening and I'm Already the Worst Neighbour Ever
Anonymous Suspicious Gossip #859 · General
Started gardening this spring, all excited to grow my own veggies. Went a bit overboard though, bought like every plant at the nursery. Figured why not go big or go home? But man, it's been chaos ever since. Next thing you know, the weeds are out of control and I'm spending all day tending these plants that don't seem to care about me at all. Yesterday, I accidentally cut a path in my front lawn with an edger too close to our neighbour’s property line. My neighbour, let's call her Sally, came over pretty mad. She was like 'Hey, you know that line there? It belongs to you.' I tried explaining I didn't mean it but she was not having any of it. We had a shouting match about lawn care and property boundaries that ended with me promising to fix it immediately. Then, in my rush to buy new plants to replace the damaged ones, I ran over to Sally's house while she was out on her daily walk without even noticing and nicked half her fence. Oops. To top it all off, last night while watering I noticed some of our garden lights were broken after weeks of dodgy wiring. My hands must have been too sweaty from the heat or something - now I've got to replace those too. Feels like gardening has become this never-ending cycle of fixing mistakes and trying not to make new ones. Anyway, guess that's what happens when you go full-on gardener without knowing anything about it. Probably should have stuck with potted plants inside for a while longer instead of taking on my whole yard all at once.
