so i promised myself that this weekend would be all about getting my art game back on track. like, really focusing and stuff. you know how it is. and yeah, i had all these big plans, but then friday rolls around and i’m just feeling a bit uninspired. and instead of pushing through the artist’s block (which imma call artist’s lazy), i decided to play some video games instead. i totally thought, well this only happens once in a while, right? and it's not like i'm playing all night or anything! but then before i knew it, it was two am. and there i was thinking maybe one more level... and another... the next day, my best friend calls me up to ask how the painting went last night. now here’s where things get real shaky. i could totally just be honest with her (which is probably better), but then again i’m an artist and artists gotta live a little right? so i fibbed about it being all about oil paints and charcoal smudges all over me. so yeah, not exactly the most noble thing i’ve ever done. now every time she brings up my work or asks to see progress (which imma admit is rarely), i get a bit anxious thinking about what would happen if she found out i spent it playing video games instead of actually creating something artistic. but hey, maybe this will be a good lesson for me and next time i’ll just go ahead and play the game and not have to worry so much? anyway, thoughts anyone?
