I Got Too Chatty at Work
Anonymous Guilty Snitch #181 · General
Tonight was one of those rare moments when I had a lull between customers. Usually it's nonstop, but with the bar half-empty and only a few regulars scattered around, I found myself in an unexpected state of calm. It's funny how my brain works, I started chatting up the cleaning lady who came in to tidy up some tables. She’s usually quiet, and we rarely interact beyond polite nods. But tonight, for no reason at all, I just couldn't stop talking! We ended up having this hilariously long conversation about her favorite TV shows, our shared dislike of Mondays, and my odd collection of vintage barware. It felt like old friends catching up rather than me trying to do my job and her trying to sweep under the counter. By the time she left, I was still beaming from it. A random burst of chatter and connection is one of those rare treats in a chaotic workplace.
