The Secret Tip Jars

I’ve been working as a bartender for over five years now, and I love my job. But there’s this little secret that I feel so guilty about, it’s the tip jars in different corners of the bar. You see, most people leave tips in these jars when they think no one is watching or at closing time. But here’s the thing: sometimes, if a jar has been sitting untouched for hours and it’s getting late, I’ll sneak a little extra money into it from my own pocket. It feels weird to admit because I know some folks would think I’m just being selfish with their tips. Plus, there was this one night when an old regular came in late and found more money than usual in the jar right by his favorite booth. He seemed so happy but also a bit suspicious as he gave me a strange look while leaving a hefty tip on the bar that night. It’s not something I’m proud of, but it does make people think they’re doing well here at our little corner bar.
