I Blurted Out Too Much

Last night at dinner, I was telling my kids about my day. Mentioned a meeting where an old friend from college came in to speak. Then I just blurted out how we'd run into each other recently and caught up over coffee. Next thing I knew, I said she's married now but hasn't been happy lately. Shouldn't have shared that much with my kids, especially my seventeen-year-old who looks up to me. Now I feel guilty for oversharing about a stranger’s personal life. Maybe they think less of me.
