my night at work turned into a crazy adventure

so i was working my usual late shift and everything seemed chill. had that kind of night where it's super slow, no real action, just me sitting around drinking coffee and checking emails for the day ahead. one of our regular customers comes in who always chats about how busy we are but never sees us actually this empty, so i kinda made a joke on insta like hey everyone seems to think you're coming in during rush hour lol. anyway it went viralish, got picked up by some local news and everything suddenly was buzzing. so here's the funny part... all of sudden there are reporters outside our store trying to interview me. i literally just posted that pic 20 minutes earlier, never expected a response at all let alone going on a bit of a rollercoaster ride. boss comes over telling me they need someone for an impromptu interview and i was thinking oh man this is it, my awkward joke has become the face of the store and now everyone knows my name. so we go out to do the interview with these reporters all set up like i'm some kind of celebrity chef or something. i don't think they had any clue what was going on, just that i had posted a funny picture about business being busy when it's not. but as soon as they start asking me questions and trying to get me to give more details about the day-to-day at work, i freeze up and can barely speak, stumbling over words and forgetting what i wanted to say half the time. felt so dumb, like a total imposter in front of all these people. ended up just saying we're always busy but sometimes things slow down for a bit. after that it was pretty surreal. everyone kept congratulating me on being featured and i didn't even know if they meant as an actual news story or because i made the joke and got attention online. boss asked how i was feeling about all of this sudden change and honestly, just felt embarrassed and kinda scared about what might happen next? but also excited, weird to be in the spotlight like that even for a bit. so yeah, my night went from boring to wild with one post and some news attention. pretty sure it'll stick in my head as one of those really random memories.
