late shift oops

i was working my usual late night shift at the warehouse and it got pretty quiet. i had just finished a stack of paperwork that everyone keeps complaining about but nobody wants to do, so i felt kinda proud of myself for getting ahead. then, out of nowhere, i started thinking really hard about how to prank someone, something silly but harmless to get back at the coworker who’s always making fun of my lunchbox. so i walked over and put this funny sign that says 'free samples' on the coffee machine right next to a pile of sugar cubes, hoping they'd grab one and it would be hilarious. turns out, everyone was too busy to notice or got their coffee fine, but my shift manager saw me putting up the sign and called me out. told me i should focus more on work and less on pranks. felt pretty dumb after that.
