Why I Feared Going To The Park Today

So there was this day last week when my kids were so excited about going to the park. My son wanted to fly kites, and my daughter couldn't wait to go down the big slide. We usually love going there, but for some reason, I just felt really stressed out all morning before we left home. Turns out, it was because of that time last month when my son got so hyper from running around that he accidentally broke another kid's water bottle while playing tag. It wasn't a big deal - the other kid and his parents were cool about it, but I still felt bad for days afterward. So there we are today, and we're in the middle of this huge park with tons of kids around. I was so paranoid that something else would happen because of how nervous I got thinking back to last month's mishap. And then, oh my gosh, it actually happened! My daughter accidentally knocked over a little girl who had just started learning to walk, and the poor thing fell down in tears. The other parents were nice about it too, but here I am again, feeling like the world's worst parent. I'm not sure if I should feel guilty for being so worried or for getting anxious at the park every time now because of these little things that happen to our kids there. But man, this place that used to be such a happy spot is suddenly giving me all these mixed feelings. Guess maybe parks aren't always just fun anymore when you have young ones running around like wild animals (which they are, I suppose).
