Can't Stop Staring in Class

Ever since that new TA started at my grad school program, I find myself staring more than listening. His name is Liam and he's the kind of guy who knows how to work a classroom with ease. Every time he looks up from his notes and makes eye contact, my heart skips a beat. It’s been weeks now, and I’ve managed to stay professional, mostly. The other day in class, I got so flustered during a Q&A that I ended up asking him if he liked coffee instead of the question I had prepared. Of course, everyone turned around and stared at me like I was crazy. But here’s the thing: it feels like this weird secret only I know, and I kind of love that about it.
