My Best Friend Didn't Believe Me

A few weeks ago, a patient came in who was having severe allergies to pet dander. They were terrified because they just found out their new home had cat hair everywhere and they couldn't breathe. I tried to explain that sometimes it helps to be around the allergen so your body gets used to it, but my best friend on duty dismissed me. She didn’t take my advice even though she's seen success with this approach before. Now the patient has been readmitted twice because of their allergic reactions.
