Sneaking Ice Cream Before Dinner

I never thought I'd be the kind of parent who lets my kids eat ice cream before dinner. But today, when they begged for some after school and promised to brush their teeth right away, something in me just gave in. Now every time they ask for dessert early, I second-guess myself. Did spoiling them like this mean I've already failed as a parent? Ugh, maybe it's okay to be a little flexible sometimes.
