Caught In The Act Of Cheating At Cards

Last weekend, I was at my cousin's house for a family gathering. We were playing cards and decided to do something light-hearted like Spades. Now, let me tell you, I've always had a knack for the game but last Sunday, I think even I surprised myself. I was losing, which isn't common for me. But then again, my cousin's husband is quite the card shark. So there I was, struggling to keep up and feeling pretty down about it. In the midst of everyone laughing and talking around us, I saw a chance. A deck that wasn't being used was lying right beside him. I didn't even think twice before I picked it up and slipped an extra card into my hand under the table. It happened so fast no one noticed but it gave me just enough to catch back up with them and win the game. As we were finishing up, I could see his confusion growing as he watched everyone congratulate me on a great round of cards. I guess some habits die hard, even when you're in your fifties! But hey, if it keeps people laughing and enjoying themselves, who am I to argue?
