...I lied about checking their grades again?..

So here I am, feeling pretty guilty because I recently did something that's been eating at me for days. It started a couple of weeks ago when my daughter told us her teachers had posted the latest report cards online. She said she was doing okay but suggested we check them out if we wanted to make sure. Now normally I'd just trust her, but since we've been talking about college and such serious stuff, I figured it couldn't hurt to take a peek myself. Plus, I don't want any surprises down the line. So I logged in under the guise of checking something else on the school's website one night when she was upstairs doing homework. But then after scrolling through her grades and seeing everything seemed fine, I thought maybe if I did it again at another time, just to double check... And the next week I went back in. Again, I told myself it was just a precautionary measure since we had all these big plans for her future. Now here's where I'm really starting to feel bad about this whole thing - yesterday she came home talking about how great her history class is doing and how well the teacher understands them... And something in my gut told me she knows I've been snooping. Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks, but now I can't shake the feeling that maybe being nosy isn't such a good idea after all... I'm really torn over this whole situation; part of me wants to be fully upfront about what I did, but another part is worried about how she'll react. So here I am, still debating whether honesty would just make things worse or if it's better than harboring this little secret indefinitely...
