Spilled the Beans Too Soon

Hey everyone, it's been bugging me for days now. You know how we bartenders have this unspoken rule about keeping secrets? I mean, every once in a while you hear something juicy from a patron and it’s like, 'Holy moly, that’s gossip gold!' Well, there was this one night where an old regular of mine let slip his plans to leave town for a new job. It felt so big, like the kind of thing I should have sworn on my bartending badge to keep quiet about. But here's the thing: in the heat of the moment, as he was telling me all this stuff, I got really excited and just blurted out something along the lines of 'Oh man, that’s amazing!' and proceeded to ramble on for a bit. Now, he didn’t seem too phased at the time, but ever since then, every time I see him he's looking at me like there might be more secrets I know. And yeah, now everyone thinks I'm this loose-lipped bartender who spills everyone's beans. In reality, I wasn't even hinting at knowing anything else or planning on spreading it around, just got a bit too excited to keep such big news under wraps. Still can’t shake the feeling of regret every time we're serving our usual patrons here. Maybe I should start practicing my poker face.
